- OE-spec replacement installs on the kickdown valve body's rectangular keyed stud; Stud is located on driver side of transmission casing and goes through the center of the neutral safety switch
- Activates valve body to downshift transmission; Connected to butterfly arm on carburetor via the kickdown cable, engaged by reaching sudden wide open throttle
- For installation in cars equipped with a C4 or C6 automatic transmission; Restores original functionality when replacing a failed or aging component
